I approach each project with three underlying principles: that well-designed space can be transformative, that nature is restorative, and that each garden has the potential to positively connect to larger ecological systems. My goal is to create dynamic, well-crafted, and sustainable landscapes for living that thoughtfully respond to client needs and site context.

I am a licensed landscape architect and established my studio in 2008. I provide comprehensive landscape architectural services and am focused on residential landscape architecture and garden design.

My childhood was imbued with a deep awareness and experience of natural and planned landscapes. I grew up on the San Francisco Bay, and spent summers and vacations exploring family farms in southern Oregon and the central valley of California, the redwood forests on the northern California coast and the High Sierra. I come from a family with a history of cultivation, design and stewardship of the land that includes farmers, landscape architects, planners, environmentalists, gardeners, nurserymen, and good old fashioned back-to-the-landers. I’ve had the pleasure and satisfaction of working with talented and knowledgeable designers, gardeners and horticulturalists, contractors and craftspeople. I hike, garden, travel, study and photograph as often as I can as a way to explore landscapes of all types, natural and built.

Prior to establishing my studio, I worked for Richard Haag in Seattle, Lutsko Associates in San Francisco, and Henning/Anderson in Oakland, CA. I have worked on numerous residential properties and estates, as well as institutional and commercial projects. I hold a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Santa Barbara, California. I am a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and a Master Gardener through Oregon State University.
